The Grottnerhof today
Past and modernity, tradition & design.
Turm landlord Stephan Pramstrahler purchased the Grottnerhof in 2007 when it was close to collapse. The roof needed to be supported and for reasons of safety, many rooms could no longer be entered. Nevertheless, it would have been such a pity to let a gem like this be forgotten. Under strict supervision the Grottnerhof was renovated. Today there are still many elements reminding guests of its long and proud history: a smoke kitchen with its ceiling blackened by the smoke, the still functioning oven, the corridor with its cross vaults and the authentic farmhouse parlour. In the cellar there are still some old wine barrels telling tales of long bygone days.
